Sometimes I like to
talk about myself
in third person
as if looking at me
through someone else’s eyes
those of a stranger
within a glass-walled café
idly sipping a latte
pen in hand
elbows on the table
covered in red checked oil cloth
observing a young woman
hurrying with an
unknown purpose
along the sidewalk.
